Amanda Krijgsman Researcher

Amanda is fascinated by nature’s role in solving societal problems. Her work focuses on complex spatial and societal issues relating to sustainable goals for both people and nature. To tackle this, she conducts action-oriented research that brings together physical, technical, political, and social perspectives. Currently, she works on the interlinkages within the biodiversity nexus to formulate concrete options for transformative change, in the EU projects BIONEXT and Shared Green Deal.

Previously, Amanda worked at Wageningen Environmental Research and the IPBES technical support unit on scenarios and models. A Wageningen University graduate, she holds a BSc and MSc in International Land and Water Management. She also took two minors on the future of the city; one at the Technical University of Delft and one at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. This helped her expand her knowledge of soci0-ecological systems in the urban environment.

Outside office hours, you’ll find Amanda around the house building the farm of her dreams.
